If you live in VB or are simply visiting, dining at Bay Local is a must! The service is wonderful, the atmosphere is beachy-chic, and the food is so fresh and delicious. During my short visit home this August, I couldn’t stay away and found myself grabbing brunch at the local favorite 3 times. Our wait was between 20 and 35 minutes each time, but that was understandable considering it is summertime at the beach. On my first visit, I chose the Chick’s Beach Delight, a veggie omelette. On the side, I had whole wheat toast and a side of fresh fruit. Let me just rave about this fruit bowl for a second. It was not filled with the usual honeydew/cantaloupe combination. Instead, it had fresh strawberries, vibrant red watermelon, juicy pineapple, glistening red grapes, and perfectly ripened banana slices. Hit. The. Spot. Even before the check arrived, I was already planning my next visit!
During my second visit I changed things up and ordered the avocado toast after spotting an image of the irresistible goodness on Instagram. Best. Decision. Ever. It was avocado toast kicked up a notch with arugula, spices, heirloom tomatoes, homemade wheat bread, and sprouts. So good! I loved it so much that when I visited the third time, I couldn’t resist not getting it again. The toast was just as good as the first time and made me realize that I need to find a way to create this phenomenal dish ASAP. After all, I won’t be back until Christmastime!
