Day 1 of Rotations!
Happy Wednesday, Everyone!
I survived my first day as a dietetic intern at FWISD! I woke up bright and early to get in a walk and work on some assignments. I probably should have slept in a little longer because I was SOOO tired as the day went on, but it’s all good 🙂 It was training day for the directors, so we had the opportunity to go to the meeting where we met our preceptor and another one of the FWISD dietitians. They were so sweet and incredibly welcoming. As interns, it is easy to feel like a burden since the preceptors are taking time out of their busy schedules, but they seemed genuinely excited to have us!
A lot Most of the material discussed at the meeting was way over my head, but interesting at the same time. I am definitely ready to start learning!
We were finished by 3, so I came home to work on school assignments, prepare dinner, and RELAX. Even though I had an extended weekend, I think the combination of nervousness and excitement has finally caught up to me because this girl is TIRED! My goal is to get all of my weekend homework completed by tomorrow night so that I can rest over the weekend…and meal plan. My meals last week were pretty boring since by the time I got home, I wanted something quick and easy. For next week, I want to have some delicious meals ready…I just have to figure out what. Decisions, decisions! Hopefully I will find some inspiration at the ClearFork Farmer’s Market this Saturday. I do love a good farmer’s market!
Well, I am off to complete some reading assignments so that I can get to bed at a decent hour tonight 🙂
