Weekend in Austin

I have been a bit under the weather since Friday, but am feeling SO. MUCH. BETTER.  Since I haven’t posted yet this week, I thought I would give y’all an update on what I was up to this past weekend!

After my internship, the game plan was to go home, eat dinner, and head to Austin for Kristin’s (one of the girls in my church community group) bachelorette party.  It was a busy week, so I was pretty exhausted.  Towards the end of the day, my throat started to feel slightly sore…no fun.  Still, I rallied and headed to Austin with one of the other girls in my CG.  Don’t worry–I double-checked to make sure no one was uncomfortable with me potentially bringing a little big cold along.  After arriving at the hotel, I was hoping to go straight to bed, but with a group of girls celebrating their friend getting married, sleeping is not a priority :).  I did manage to get to sleep before midnight, so that’s a plus.  We stayed at the Omni Barton Creek, which was really nice, but also HUGE!  I definitely got my steps in each day ;).

The bride-to-be’s sister did an AMAZING job decorating and putting everything together!

Who doesn’t love walking into presents?!

Found this little gem in my gift bag.  Some bags were filled with gummy worms, my bag was filled with RXBars. #dietitianproblems #theyknowmesowell #notcomplaining #myfavoriteflavor #bestgiftbagever

Saturday morning I woke up feeling pretty lousy.  Even though we were going to hike Barton Creek, I decided to get a quick shower to hopefully clear up my sinuses a bit.  It worked, but I still felt pretty run down.  The hike was more like a walk through the woods, which was nice because I definitely didn’t have much energy!  Once back at the hotel, we gathered in one of the rooms for Kristin’s panty party, and left for the winery shortly after.  The winery was about 45 minutes away from the hotel, so I took a little nap on the way.  We sat outside on the patio where there was a nice breeze and the views were AMAZING!

Even though I don’t drink, I definitely enjoyed the weather, scenery, and spending quality time with my friends :).  Also, if you put water in a wine glass, it totally counts, right?

After the winery, we made a pit-stop for ice cream at Amy’s and went back to the hotel for naps and relaxation before dinner.  I showered, got dressed, and then cuddled up in a blanket for a luxurious 2 hour nap.  Just what the doctor ordered!

Our dinner reservations were at one of my absolute FAVORITE restaurants, True Food Kitchen.  Needless to say, I was pretty excited!  Unfortunately, our table wouldn’t be ready until 9, so it was a late dinner.

Honestly, this may have been the latest dinner I have ever had, but it was totally worth it!  I got my usual favorite, which hit the spot.  One day I will try something different, but for now…

The Inside Out Quinoa Burger!  The perfect 10 o’clock meal ;).

When one of the girls needs ketchup for her meal, you run across the street to Trader Joe’s to remedy the situation!

Once back at the hotel (close to midnight!), it was lights out!

Sunday morning, I was up bright dark and early to head back to Fort Worth with Kayla and Megan.  They were leaving the earliest, so I tagged along because this girl needed some sleep!  Not going to lie…I wore my pajamas and Chacos. #stylish #noshame.

We arrived back in Fort Worth around 9:45am, which gave me a good chunk of the day to catch up on some rest.  After showering and putting on a fresh pair of pajamas, I made some lunch and slept…all. day. long.  Kristin’s bridal shower was later in the afternoon, but since I continued declining, I stayed home from the shower.  I hated to miss it, but I didn’t want to infect anymore people than I already had (I hope I didn’t!!) and I knew it would be a rough week if I didn’t listen to my body.

I still have quite the raspy voice and a lovely little burst blood vessel in my eye, but my voice is coming back and the vessel is becoming smaller!  I am hoping to be back to normal for my trip to CHICAGO for FNCE this weekend!
