Life Lately

Happy Friday, Friends! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas season full of family, sparkle, cookies, cocoa, and a whole lot of Jesus!

Sorry I haven’t checked in recently! Between work, my internship, and traveling, I have been slacking on the blog updates.  Now that I am back home for Christmas and things have started to calm down, I am hoping to start posting more frequently! In the meantime, here is an update of what I’ve been up to recently.

The tree at my house in Fort Worth that one of my roommates decorated so beautifully.  I snapped this photo at 3am before catching an Uber to the airport.  It reminds me of a Dr. Seuss tree!

Since I was traveling through breakfast and lunch, I had to get a little creative with my lunch.  Breakfast is pretty easy.  I brought a packet of Vegan Chocolate Shakeology and a shaker bottle.  Once through security, I simply asked for a cup of water, poured the shake mix and water into the bottle, and voila!  My daily dose of nutrition all set.  I also had a banana along with it.

For “lunch,” I grabbed a few goodies from my FNCE swag and enjoyed some Rhythm Superfoods Beet Chips, Biena Chickpeas, Pistachios (unpictured), and an EPIC Chicken Sriracha bar. I saved the Kale Chips for a snack on the plane.

I see you, Virginia!

Once home, we got Panera salads and relaxed before it was time to hit the ground running the next day.  Christmas tree decorating, baking, partying, and more!

Christmas Ornament Exchange Party Prep

This is an event I look forward to every year!  We have 30+ people over for dinner, dessert, and everyone’s favorite Christmas ornament exchange.  It is always a fun time and everyone is still friends even after “stealing” from one another.

But what kind of party would it be without tasty eats and treats?!

My Grandma’s Homemade Rolls…always a winner 🙂

For our Annual Ornament Exchange, we had turkey chili and white chicken chili, baked potatoes (I had a sweet potato!), salad (made by your’s truly), broccoli with cheese sauce, homemade rolls, various toppings, and all of the sweets you could possibly want!

Baking All The Christmas Cookies!

Prior to the party, it was time to bake!  Tis the season, right? 🙂

Christmas Magic Squares…the sprinkles were necessary 🙂

Christmas Light Fun

There was a sparkly ornament that I just had to see for myself at the Town Center in my hometown. Y’all…it was so sparkly! The pictures simply do not do it justice.  I am a sucker for anything that sparkles, and let’s just say, I would like this in my house, please.

After experiencing the sparkle at Town Center…and freezing our tails off (My Mom and sister got ice cream…what?!), we headed to the beach to look at Christmas lights.  There is a street down at the beach that goes all out for Christmas and never disappoints.  It is so magical and has become a family tradition to go see.

I cannot believed Christmas is in 3 DAYS!!! The Hallmark Christmas movies this year are on point and I have a few more on the DVR ready to be watched.  It is a chilly, rainy day here today, so I may just cuddle up with my pup and watch some movies!  But first, I am going to do a quick workout 😉
