Happy Tuesday, Everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing Labor Day weekend! I officially start my first rotation tomorrow and I am both super nervous and super excited! I will be at Fort Worth ISD for the next 9 weeks, so will I get to stay in my neck of the woods, which I am so grateful for. Over the weekend I worked ahead a few assignments for my Nutrition & Poverty class to give me a bit of a buffer if I have a crazy week down the road. I still feel like I have a lot to do, but I am taking it one step at a time because I don’t want to burn myself out!
In between school work, I have also made time to have fun! I hung out with my friend Kate on Saturday and helped her pick parsley for a food tasting she was doing today at TCU #nutritionfun, met up with my friend Maddie at Avoca (a coffee shop here in Fort Worth) on Monday, and went to TCU to see some of my professors today! Y’all. I cannot even express how great the nutrition department faculty and staff are. It was like I was going home to see my family. Hugs all around!! God definitely blessed me with an amazing group of people!! It just so happened that I was there right as the DPD seminar was starting (basically a REALLY AMAZING class led by the DPD director to answer any questions/concerns about the application process) and had the opportunity to sit in and answer some of the students’ questions based off of my experience. It definitely felt weird to be on the other side of the process! I LOVED being able to share my experiences with them and was beyond flattered that I was invited to come and chat with them #allthewarmandfuzzies 🙂
Before I resume working on assignments, I thought I’d leave you with a picture of my amazing avocado toast for #toasttuesday.
